About the author
Joyce Simard, MSW is a well-known expert on Alzheimer's disease. Ms. Simard received her undergraduate degree from Ithaca College in New York and her graduate degree from the University of Minnesota. She has been in the long-term care industry since 1978, working in nursing facilities and assisted living communities. Ms. Simard is recognized for developing innovative programs for people with all levels of memory loss.
Ms. Simard has spoken throughout the country as well as in Australia and Asia on caring for people with Alzheimer's disease. She has authored numerous articles and chapters on various issues regarding dementia. Ms. Simard is a geriatric consultant who lives in Land O' Lakes, Florida and Prague, Czech Republic.

About the illustrator
Inka Delevova was born in Prague Old City, Czech Republic. She devotes herself to painting landscapes, still life, and illustrations. Mrs. Delevova has illustrated over 100 books for adults and children and has been featured in over 200 exhibits. Her illustrations of fairy tales, fables and stories were used for an animated film. Mrs. Delevova is well-known for her scientific illustrations for textbooks, maps, and posters for schools. Her anatomical posters for physicians have been praised for the intricate detail of the drawings. She designs book covers, diplomas, certificates, medals, calendars, ex libris, and postcards including a cycle of castles, palaces, churches and monasteries. Last but not least, Mrs. Delevova has illustrated several books of poetry.
